Motivation
"The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit." Psalms 34:18
In every life there will be pain and disappointments, and the more we set our heart on persons -the more devastating it will be.Some seek out 'inner peace" -it may be yoga; feng shui; meditations; spa; even escape time......These are all fine, and of no harm but admittedly the comfort is short lived.Within us is a subconscious appreciation that there is "something" that can fulfill, sadly, as beings of a complex mind we still cannot find that "Peace" or "Calm" because the ability is not within us or the mind to have sustained peace -"out of our hearts comes bad thoughts of greed, pride, anger and resentment", these have to be addressed first of all to make way for real and sustainable peace. What we seek deeply can only come from an external source, this goes beyond motivational speakers or an agreeing friend with well tuned ears.
The Word of God do offer what we seek but cannot find. GOD loves a brokenheart and a crushed spirit to cry unto HIM
Psalms 88 1-10
At times our folly overwhelm us -call-out unto God
- paraphrased -
Lord, you are the God who saves me; day and night I cry out to you, ...I am overwhelmed with troubles and my life draws near to death. I am like one without strength. I am set apart with the dead, ...whom you remember no more, who are cut off from your care.Your wrath lies heavily on me;... You have taken from me my closest friends and have made me repulsive to them.I am confined and cannot escape; my eyes are dim with grief. I call to you, Lord, every day;
Psalms 31vs.5-9
People are cruel but you can put yourself in God's Hand
- paraphrased -
Into your hands I commit my spirit; deliver me, Lord, my faithful God.I hate those who cling to worthless things; as for me, I trust in the Lord.I will be glad and rejoice in your love, for you saw my affliction and knew the anguish of my life.You have not given me into the hands of the enemy but have set my feet in a spacious place.Be merciful to me, Lord, for I am in distress;
The Lonely Path
Others don't understand you; -Your words means nothing; -The best you give is not enough; -They take all you have to give but you wish little from them; -You are as good until your first mistake; -They were never your friend only waiting for the right opportunity to turn from you. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Why does it have to be so difficult _ The chips don't ever seem to fall where we expect _ Does it all worth it ??
1Corinthians 15vs.19 -If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
2Corinthians 4vs.18 -So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
The work that is done under the sun is grievous: for all is vanity and vexation of spirit.
These are not complainer's remarks but the realty of life is such, we all at some stage face disappointments. The higher we hang our expecations the more our grief can be.
-God's Word is calling for us to turn and put our trust and commit our ways to Him; the pains of life may not go totally away BUT our heart, purpose and expectations can be redirected for a higher purpose.
